Over 2’s
Ages 2 -3 years
The large ground floor of the nursery is completely free flow, meaning all children can move freely around the various rooms, play areas and our vibrant, outdoor play area and garden (weather permitting). No-one is restricted to a particular room or play area at Wonder Years.
The children progress in different groups, with our two year olds cared for with a staff ratio of 1:4. Key-workers plan adult led activities for their own children and set up each learning environment to take full advantage of this wonderful age group. Development at this stage just seems to explode, with speech and language bringing the start of hilarious conversations that bring us all much joy and laughter.
Independence is growing and potty training is a key milestone for many in this age group, as is the ability to begin to make more independent choices. Developing creativity, caring for others and all important social skills are central to the planning for our 2-3’s.
Toddlers can start to have more structured learning. It is a great age of adventure and discovery and a fantastic stage. We encourage that endless curiosity as their attention span slowly starts to increase, using this curiosity to foster a love for learning, lead by their own interests.
